Structure of GATE Exam and Analysis of Computer Science Paper



Graduate aptitude test in engineering is an online text held all over India to test the students in various engineering branches, technology, Geosciences and architecture. It is help to select the candidates for various post graduation course and also for admission to M Tech and PhD course. The selection to various leading public sector companies takes place on the basis of this exam.

The GATE exam is jointly held all IITs and IISc, Indian Institute of Science. The GATE Exam is held in one single paper, which is of 3 hours of duration. The paper has 65 questions with a total of 100 marks. Out of 65 questions 55 Questions are covered from technical and mathematics and rest 10 Questions are from aptitude.  The questions are in objective type format.

The GATE has negative marking, which makes it one of the touchiest exams in the country. One can make number of attempt to clear the exams, since there is no limit on the number of attempts but each failed attempt is a waste of resources, time and a year. That is why the coaching and careful planned preparations are important for clearing the exam. 

Any candidate can select one subject from the list of 23 subjects that are listed as options. Though a candidate can select any subject but it is recommended that he or she should select the subject of his or her graduation.  The questions are set not only to test the candidate’s core subject knowledge and understanding, and also the candidate’s general aptitude analytical and language skills

Pattern of computer science paper -

There is not negative marking in attempting numerical type questions. A candidate should try to get full marks in aptitude section of the test paper, which is easiest compare to other sections.
In the technical section of the exam paper, a candidate should not spend time in answering, 1 mark questions, as these are easy to solve and should be answered quickly. The question of 2 marks would need some time. Question from mathematics, programming, aptitude, digital logic compiler data, and database are likely to come in exams.
