The Central board of secondary education
on behalf of the university grand commission holds national eligibility test
for selecting Indian students for teaching professional and for junior research
fellowship. The exam is conducted in 83
subjects across the India.
The students who are selected for junior
research fellowship can do research in the post graduation subject or related subject.
These candidates are eligible for the post of assistant professor.
For setting in the exam, the candidates
must have secured at least 55 % marks in the post graduation from university or
institute recognized by the UGC. The candidate belonging to backward classes
and schedule castes need only 50 % marks in the master degree from recognized
university or institute. Persons with physical disability also need only 50 % marks.
Candidates who are appearing in the post
graduate exams can appear for the NET exam but they have to show the passing of
master exam with required marks before finally getting selected by UGC. If they
fail to get the required qualifying marks, they shall be considered
disqualified. Candidate whose post graduate subject is not mentioned in the
list of subjects can appear in the any related subject.
The age limit is 28 years as on July
2016 .Relaxation up to 5 years is provided to students belonging to backward
classes or schedule classes. Age relaxation is also applicable to the
candidates who has research experience in any filed or subject. The relaxation
depends on the years spent in research.
The exam pattern consists Study Material of UGC NET Computer Science of three papers in each session. The
paper 1 and paper II will have 100 marks each. The paper 1 will have 60 questions.
Out of these 60 questions, the 50 question have to be attempted by the candidates.
The paper II will have 50 questions and all questions are compulsory. The time
for solving these papers is 75 minutes. The third papers will be of 75 question
and total marks allocated to this paper are 150. The allotted time is 2.5 hours.
The question in paper 1 will be UGC NET coaching for Management in Delhi of general nature and will test only the
aptitude of the candidate for teaching and research jobs. The general ability
to reasoning, logic and divergent thinking in candidates is tested. The paper
II will have question from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question
will have two marks. Paper III will also have question based on the subject
chosen by the candidate. The correct answers to the compulsory questions will
get two marks to the candidate. The questions in paper II and III covered the
entire syllabus of the subject chosen by the candidates. The candidate will be
provided with optical mark reader for answering the questions. This sheet will
be given with question booklet.
